The girlfriend is my wife now, so the result will quite likely be a divorce.

I can tell you what I would not do. I would not fight with the guy. I find that to be the most idiotic thing one can do in that situation.
 
I went through this a few years ago. I found out my wife had been in an affair. She told me she ended it. So at that time I stopped and thought I did love her so I gave her a chance. I stepped back and asked her why she did it and then asked about getting counseling.

2 other chances later she left me for the guy . LOL

So did I do it right, dunno Im still really good friends with her
 
Quite a story, RH! Doesn't happen to anyone, but I guess you had very special chemistry/relationship to behave the way you did.
 
I can understand a passing glimpse, or liking someone, but from that to real action behind your back are multiple conscience barriers one would have to break through. I don't think I could ever be as forgiving as you RH01.

As for me, I'd be very surprised first and then ask them to go and drink a cup of coffee somewhere and make cognitive and unforgettable conversation with them.:D

Hrmm thats a good question as this has not happened to me.
I would asume that I would probably go off half cocked or at least
start off that way and hold myself back.

I probably would not let her know I saw her do it until I have thought it out for a bit then confront her
 
Ask her outright why she done it.
There is three answers she can come out with.

yes sorry it was stupid it wont happen again. (then have a row)

Yes I done it because i hate you now im leaving.....(then have a bigger row)

Or...

I diddnt do it (then go find another girl) :smash:
