The rise of the influence makes this the best time to re-invent our marketing strategy on Twitter, the social network growth over the past 5 years and its essential link with the contents (now central to the client- mark), and speaks for itself.

17 actions that make our marketing on Twitter an ally of the consolidation of our brand (personal and enterprise)

1 - Optimization of tweets

• Promotion of quality content own and other brands
• Respond to all messages and entries received
• Establish a personality associated with the brand, for which, the record is essential.
The main objective is that the mere reading of the tweets and the association with the brand we represent, takes users to access content.

2. - SEO Tweets

When we talk about Twitter today we talk about content and when we talk about it, we do in terms of quality, which include the ability to perform social SEO consistent with the brand and constant in all our tweets including keywords in promoting stronger content and interaction with users. 4. - Searches on Twitter, the power of segmentation

Use the Twitter search function will help us identify problems and respond to needs of our target audience, and to assess the health of our brand.
Having identified the areas of interest, we must not lose the opportunity to generate a dialogue around the specific issue, another way to gain the trust of users.

5. - Interaction with brands and appropriate users

There is a common mistake of brands on Twitter, what matters is not how much, what matters is the quality of content that is shared, the consistency of interests, needs and challenges, community building

Tools like Twellow and WeFollow allow us to identify users who join us any link, location, market areas of interest, etc. ....

Once identified it is not sufficient to promote our Tweets but, as we know, is absolutely essential to know what it says about our brand and for that interaction is essential.

6. - Empathy, excellent starting point
If there is something that requires the social fabric is empathy, the maintenance of cleanliness in the form of communication, building trust through openness and transparency of our messages is essential to perform these actions with our new followers or followed , this way the relationship will start from the ideal place to acquire the classification of "long term".

7. - Lattice social, social relationships, interaction essential for maintenance
It is obvious that we must cultivate relationships, if we are looking to consolidate a long-term relationship with customers or partners, it is necessary that we encourage interaction, it also allows us to develop a segmentation of our fans using Twitter lists.

8. - Impact and attraction

The promotion of our content should be the link with our audience, use of impact messages instead of automatic promotion, it is very efficient in terms of promoting social interaction and ... obviously attracting users to our blog.

9. - Contents = profit = influence

Twitter is shared content, the higher its quality and relevance within the industry, more viral experience to be more useful.

10. - Credibility, transparency and management reviews

If we are wrong must admit, we are people.
If you do not know an answer, it is important to say

While the dynamic interaction and recommended Twitter over the construction of quasi-social relationships customized to our users, is also a reality that using tools like HootSuite for managing social profiles information related to our company is very effective in terms of time distribution and optimization of our actions.

Very informative post! It's startling to see large brands ignore tweets from their clients in need of support. It certainly pays to be on your social media game and use these technics.

Good mention of HootSuite too! Well worth the $9/mo., IMHO.

So, how do you feel about automation? You know, scheduling tweets in advance.

Sure nowadays interacting with your customers through social networking is a sign of reliability

Some useful tips mentioned in here and although it's a bit difficult to come up with some quick decisions and conclusions about outcomes that will be generated through using Twitter and possibly other social media projects, but a through a brief glance at most well-known businesses, we notice that traffic building is the main reason why even big businesses are using popular solutions such as Twitter today.

I really do not believe SEO is the matter of discussion over here because even if you keep your Twitter page updated with tons of fresh posts a day, although a lot of visitors might come and see your posts and homepage, but not a lot of links, editorial ones, may be gained in the meanwhile. Custom support through Twitter too seems a bit confusing because you may need to answer tweets that are not necessarily from customers but first-time visitors.

To use Twitter and other social networks is important to any website these days. It is important both for traffic and SEO.

I know this is old, but I figure since someone else bumped it I'd chime in.

I think all levels of being "public" and "accessible" are really important to people when it comes to dealing with a business. Nobody wants to work with a monolith where it seems like there are no humans to get ahold of, regardless of through what medium that message comes across.

If you're on twitter and active people feel like you're "around" and they know there's a person in there that they can work with. That'll always beat a faceless drone.

You know, unless the drone gives you a REALLY good price.

Businesses with no Twitter/Facebook account look a bit old-fashioned these days. And they certainly lose some credibility by it.

While Socialmedia and its presence is powerful, its has both pros and cons. You can reach a huge number of people in one go with social media. The side effect being a huge number of people can reach you as well . One negative comment on social media, can catch attention of huge masses even though the issue may be very minor or even untrue at times. False social media practices are also prevalent these days. Competitors create fake social media accounts to post negative reviews about each other as well. While social media is very useful, it is certainly a volatile object to be handled with care.

Twitter is one of the best platforms to use for social media, you can get extremely targeted traffic. and most of all its virtually cheap to build your fan base. I think Facebook is second to twitter.

Twitter was never designed to be a social network but it has become one. The following points should be kept in mind.
1.Size matters on Twitter
2.Build a targeted tribe on Twitter
3.Tweet “evergreen” content
4.Include links to liquid and contagious content
5.Tweet multimedia content
6.Visual tweets are vital

Twitter's origins lie in a "daylong brainstorming session" held by board members of the podcasting company Odeo. Dorsey, then an undergraduate student at New York University, introduced the idea of an individual using an SMS service to communicate with a small group.

which is basically social networking though SMS

Thank you for this information. I've been working on marketing my web hosting but haven't made much progress yet. Google ads aren't working for me even though they are bringing some traffic. And I haven't made any success with Twitter also. I'll have to read this more and re-evaluate what I'm doing. Mostly I'm trying to figure out if what I'm putting on twitter is actually effective. I may not be wording my posts well.

It is ... but I don't think it's in the area of customer support. This would have to do with solving exact problems that clients have while social networks is about promoting the business in general.
