WebHostingTalk data hacked

The user data of a web hosting discussion community WebHostingTalk.com has been hacked. Some of the data was compromised and distributed by hackers. There were lengthy downtime periods on Saturday and Sunday. When the forum was restored, it was missing posts that were made as far back as October of 2008 (date of last physical backup available). The intruder gained access to their offsite backup servers and later deleted all server backups. Sensitive information (email addresses and likely Private Messaging information) was stolen for forum’s 200,000+ members.
