Oracle Red Bull Racing leverages AI, cloud advancements for 2025 F1 season

As the 2025 Formula One season starts, Oracle Red Bull Racing is enhancing its partnership with Oracle. They are focusing on using new cloud and AI technologies to improve their race performances. These technologies help develop better race strategies and boost interaction with fans throughout the season.

Red Bull Racing has been working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, also known as OCI, since 2021. They are upgrading their system with something called OCI Compute A2 and A4 Flex shapes. These upgrades make their simulation speeds 10% faster.

Faster simulation means they can complete more simulations each week. This is great because it helps them plan their races better. Since they started using OCI, their simulation times have improved by 25%. This improvement is a clear example of how useful cloud technology can be in the world of motorsport.

Additionally, Oracle Red Bull Racing is integrating generative AI into their pit wall operations. This cutting-edge technology, which uses retrieval-augmented generation and large language models, provides quick access to historical rules and data. This speed helps the team make better decisions during races, crucial in important moments.

Red Bull Ford Powertrains, which is working on the next-generation sustainable fuel engine for 2026, also uses OCI for advanced simulations. Beyond the track, the team is standardizing all Oracle Red Bull Racing trackside infrastructure with Oracle’s technology.

Car sensor monitors, dashboard displays, and garage computers will operate using Oracle Virtualization, Oracle Linux, and Oracle Cloud Native Environment. This ensures consistency and efficiency for IT teams across local and cloud environments.

Christian Horner, the CEO and team principal, emphasized Oracle’s technological advantage. He stated that performance gains are vital in F1, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure helps achieve track goals. From preparation to triumph, Oracle Cloud and AI technologies provide insights that make Oracle Red Bull Racing a top team in Formula One history.

Oracle is also improving fan engagement with Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience solutions, enhancing interactions and personalization. As the sport evolves, AI and cloud technology not only boost on-track performance but also transform the fan experience.

The season runs from March 14 to December 7, and Oracle Red Bull Racing aims for continued success. Since Oracle became the team’s title sponsor in 2022, it has played a key role in Red Bull’s technological progress. As Formula One embraces digital change, the combination of cloud computing, AI, and racing strategy is critical to success.
