OpenAI eyes Chrome as DOJ pushes Google to break up browser monopoly

During Google’s antitrust trial, OpenAI’s Nick Turley revealed interest in acquiring Chrome if it hits the market, calling it a chance to reimagine the browser through an “AI-first” lens. The comment follows reports OpenAI is exploring its own browser, backed by hires from Chrome’s original team. The Justice Department has proposed forcing Google to divest Chrome as part of its search monopoly remedy.
