Central Technology Limited, the UK-based cloud services provider, is offering Office 365 backup services and new ransomware protection based on the HyperStore storage platform of Cloudian and Veeam Software.

Among the wide range of customers CT offers business continuity, cloud and managed service solutions to are businesses in the manufacturing, legal and professional services as well as charitable organizations. The company envisioned a rise in ransomware threats, especially in a period marked by demand for remote work. That is why it decided to offer its customers a reliable service for ransomware protection.

Central Technology Limited had to rely on Cloudian and Veeam to create the base for its service. The decision behind it was the fact that the two enterprises were successful in creating an Object Lock solution capable of creating immutable backup data copies, making data practically invulnerable to either deletion or hacker encryption. The immutability feature of the solution provides the means for separately storing a clean and unaffected copy of the data, available for reliable and quick data recovery in a case of ransomware attack or similar hacker event.

As the volumes of data, the needs for data protection solutions and threads from malware evolve beyond what the current solutions have to offer, the new service offering by CT aims to make its customers feel safe again.

The CT’s allegedly highly secure backup offering for a range of software products manages security threats, addresses accidental data deletion and fills up retention policy gaps but will it be as cost effective as the company claims and come with one-third lower cost than that of the world’s biggest existing service for public cloud backup storage?
