Cloudflare increases revenue outlook amid expanding AI cloud demand

Cloudflare has raised its full year and first quarter revenue outlook, signaling that demand for cloud infrastructure tied to artificial intelligence continues to build despite recent operational scrutiny.

The company projected 2026 revenue between 2.79 billion and 2.80 billion dollars, exceeding analyst expectations of 2.74 billion, according to market data from LSEG. In the first quarter, Cloudflare indicated that revenue would come in at between 620 million and 621 million dollars, beating forecasts. This led to a rise in stock by almost 12 percent in extended hours trading.

The updated guidance comes as enterprises expand spending on digital infrastructure to support AI development and deployment. As organizations integrate generative models and autonomous agents into workflows, they require secure, distributed networks capable of handling rising traffic volumes and low latency demands. Cloudflare positions its global network as a foundation for that shift.

Chief executive Matthew Prince described the transition toward AI and agent driven systems as a structural change in how the internet operates. According to the company, AI agents such as OpenClaw rely on Cloudflare’s network services to route traffic securely between remote systems and private environments. That use case highlights how AI workloads increasingly depend on secure connectivity layers rather than isolated computing power alone.

In the December quarter, Cloudflare reported revenue of 614.5 million dollars, up 33.6 percent from a year earlier and above analyst estimates. Net loss narrowed to 12.1 million dollars from 12.8 million in the prior year period. The data indicates a continued growth in the top-line revenue, even as the company invests in infrastructure capacity.

However, the outlook could help alleviate some concerns among investors, who were worried after a November outage that affected the ability to access some of the leading online platforms. This is especially important as workloads related to AI move from the experimental phase to the production phase.

Although Cloudflare shares remain down more than 8 percent so far this year after strong gains in 2025, the revised guidance indicates management expects sustained demand for cloud networking services linked to AI adoption. As the enterprise scales its use of AI, the companies that can deliver performance, security, and worldwide reach are likely to play a key role in this process.
