Atturra, a leading Australian advisory and IT solutions provider, is boosting its sovereign cloud capacity with new infrastructure at NextDC’s S3 data center in Sydney. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for enhanced cloud computing and storage solutions.
Starting this month, Atturra’s deployment at the NextDC S3 facility will be completed by December. The new infrastructure will support up to 36 servers and 400 terabytes of storage, ensuring robust performance and scalability. From this location, Atturra will offer infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) to its customers.
Chris McLaughlin, Atturra’s Executive General Manager of Managed Services, emphasized the unique benefits of their services. “Many clients realize that not all workloads suit cloud hyperscalers. They value the performance, scalability, and resilience we provide for cloud-based and hybrid infrastructures.”
The longstanding partnership between Atturra and NextDC is set to flourish with this expansion. NextDC’s Head of Sales, Steve Martin, expressed enthusiasm about supporting Atturra’s growth, particularly in AI services. “Atturra’s new AI-as-a-Service platform will accelerate client adoption of Private AI solutions. This collaboration underscores our mission to provide scalable, AI-ready infrastructure.”
Located in Artarmon, just outside Sydney, the NextDC S3 data center was completed in June 2023. The facility spans over 26,000 sqm with an 80MW capacity across 10,800 racks, offering ample space and power for Atturra’s needs. Atturra also plans to further expand within the S3 facility, with the option to deploy additional racks. “We can double our capacity here, meeting our clients’ growing needs driven by increased AI business use,” McLaughlin added.
Atturra’s commitment to sovereign cloud solutions aligns with the Australian government’s preference for data storage within national boundaries. This expansion, along with recent acquisitions like Exent and Cirrus Networks, positions Atturra as a pivotal player in Australia’s IT landscape.
In summary, Atturra’s strategic deployment at NextDC’s S3 data center marks a significant step in enhancing its sovereign cloud offerings, ensuring robust, scalable solutions for its clients.
