AWS has relinquished its CISPE board seat after new rules restricted non-European cloud giants from holding leadership roles. While AWS remains a non-voting member, the shift strengthens CISPE’s European-driven mission for cloud sovereignty. The move follows AWS’s opposition to Microsoft joining CISPE after settling a €20M antitrust case. The new board now includes leaders from Anexia, Hyve, Leaseweb, Outscale, and Register.
