Microsoft now drives 45% of new cloud AI case studies, with 62% focused on genAI projects. This commanding position stems largely from its collaboration with OpenAI, which has bolstered offerings like Azure OpenAI Service. The company’s success in genAI demonstrates its ability to align innovation with market demand, outpacing both AWS and Google Cloud.
AWS, while maintaining its leadership in legacy AI, focuses primarily on non-genAI projects. It secured 15% of new cloud AI projects, reflecting its continued strength in traditional AI applications. Google Cloud, despite trailing in overall volume, integrates AI deeply into its ecosystem, driving 36% of its new case studies with AI-powered solutions.
Microsoft’s achievements surpass its market share, with AI engagement standing at 45%, far above its 29% share of the cloud market. In contrast, AWS’s AI engagement lags slightly behind its market share, while Google nearly doubles its share with 17% engagement.
