Used all of them at one point, and i just prefer directadmin. Its simply a preference i believe, most modern panels can do the same thing in one way or another.
Most server hacks occur due some silly human mistake. Focus on eliminating those mistakes, minimizing the attack surface, use better passwords, make sure to protect pages that need to be protected, use SSH keys for authentication and disable password login etc.
Im regular Linux user for about 8 years already, on both desktop and servers. Linux got pretty stable on desktops, even older people can find their way around it these days.
