Logs problem

Hello Guys,

The same old problem. Webalizer is not generating stats. Reason, because logs are not being rotated for some unknown reason. I have gone through almost every related topic on Cobalt Users Mailing List as well as WHT but could'nt find an answer.

The main problem is, I think that whatever script splits the access_log into individual site log files (e.g; web.log, ftp.log) is not doing its job properly. That is atleast what I assume from my experience. Somebody eventually being nice me, told me to edit /etc/logrotate.d/apache so that webalizer runs before logs are rotatated.

Any idea how woudl I do it ?

Hmm...

What version of Webalizer do you have? Where did you get it? What RaQ do you have? 3 or 4? Also, did you install the "/home log patch"?

Try deleting all
/home/sites/*/logs files (* means all logs for virtual sites - be sure to TURN OFF httpd for this) and then delete the logs...
Also delete /etc/httpd/logs
all logs there...

Restart apache... Maybe that might do the trick...
Let me know, and post what RaQ and Webalizer you use...

Well, I am running Webalizer 2.0 on a RaQ3.

I have almost solved the problem. In /etc/logrotate.d/apache there needed to be entry for /usr/bin/webalizer.pl but there was'nt any. So I added before the split_logs one and saved it.

That seems to be solve the problem for now. I am expecting to dig in further and clean up things up.

Thanks for your help Homer anyways. :P
