Starting a Web Hosting/Domain eBusiness

I wish to start a webhosting solution eBusiness.

I would like a complete all in one package enabling a Windows server to supply hosting/domains/packages on demand via the website, so I am able to run the business without any hassle. This will include eCommerce integration etc. The customer will of course need a comprehensive control panel solution too.

How would I do this?
What software packages do you suggest?
What hardware solutions are there to offer?

How would I go about installing etc. Anyone's experiences in setting up this type of business from scratch?

Best regards

Jack

You want to start a webhosting business "without any hassle"?

There are no control panels or ecommerce solutions that will accomplish this.

Jack, ModernBill (http://www.modernbill.com) will run on a Windows server. It will set up packages automatically, however, some companies have disabled automatic setup to avoid abuse.

If you're running a Windows server, you're probably going to run the Plesk control panel, which you could buy already installed on a server from a place like ev1servers.net.

Hosting isn't hassle free, but automation software may take away the need to set up each account manually.

Thanks!!! That's just what I need. Modernbill also integrates with many different control panels so I can run two different servers with linux and windows and modernbill takes care of it all!

Superb! Thanks webfreak!!!

Webfreak, do large webhosts have their own custom built control panels or do they use a packaged version. Is Plesk completely customisable and fast or are there more powerful models for larger web hosts. I am looking for a control panel a customer would find very easy to use, but powerful and capable, especially for the administrator

Thanks for taking the time to answer. :)

The decision on which control panel to use and whether or not a web host should create a custom control panel is up to that particular web host. You also have to factor in the costs of creating your own control panel. There are many well established web hosts who use a control panel such as cPanel (Linux) or Plesk (Windows).

I don't know your needs, so I would advise you to check out the Plesk website:
