Search Engine Position

I've heard from a customer that having your sites spread across different Class C's of IP addresses can move you higher in the results. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Vege, yes that is very true. If you have them at different data centers with different IP's on different ranges, it doesn't look to search engines as "Spamming" we have done a test with a Site 1 week old linked to another in two different Datacenters etc.. It boosted above PR2 which the site we linked to was to PR3. Thats all I am about to say about that :)

I setup my website back in mid December and it is on the first page for a few keywoards. I am getting a decent amount of hits from google/yahoo and other search engines. Still working on a higher PR but I probably just need more links from static websites.

My forum talkfreelance.com is number 1 for "freelance design", "freelance forums" on msn and about number 15 on yahoo! Google doesn't like us though :(

We are considering one of those SEO companies, have to be carefull though, lots of them are scammers.
Any one had any good experience with a SEO company?
