We are interested to hear everyone's feedback in regard of our complementary service - Reward Store.

We're interested in things like whether it is a good idea or not (so far its been performing good), whether current pricing-point schedule is fair or not, as well as maybe you have some ideas for items that we can add to the store.

Hiya everybody,

Well, with our recent upgrade to vBulletin version 3 we lost all items from our Reward Store, so I decided to finally glue it back together and restore as many items as possible for your pleasure.

Here are just a few thigns that we had:

- Free Domain Name (COM/NET/ORG) through NameCheap.
- Custom Title
- Professional Banner from BannersMall.
- Calendar listing
- Goft certificates
- $35-dollar bidding account with BrowseHosts.

If anyone think of something useful for us to add, please either post here or PM me directly and we will see what we can do to keep your beautiful minds happy.

PS: Oh! How about something like "128MB USB Flash Disk Storage Device" (removable USB storage)?

I don't know if that would be such a great idea since HD is not a host themselves, and may be too much of an expense to give away free hosting. I think it would be best if all of the hosting related items be left to the offers and requests forum.

What about:

* discount on SEO services
* addition to a host's AdWords or Overture account (their choice)
* discount on print services (business cards, brochures, what have you)
* discount on an external security audit (network or single machine)
* coffee
* a coupon for a demo tutorial seller / company

These would be good for web hosts, but also for many current or future customers. These are higher-end things, but with the discounts / coupons, you could set the price that HD can pay for these prizes. The discount might be, for example, $50 (or maybe more - who knows, some of these folks might be interested in advertising with the community, and doing some sort of services-trade?)

The only problems I can forsee is: how do you decide which company/ies to offer the discounts from? How do you know that they're reliable? If the item is put into the store and then the company goes out of business or changes hands, how would you keep track of that? Could be a lot of extra maintenance involved.

(I really need to stop playing my own devil's advocate before I've had enough coffee.)

Ah well...those are my suggestions.

Lesli, some of your suggestions are very good and will certainly be considered. I can see how some of them can be added in the near future.

The reward store doesn't work automatically. Whenever a member decides to make a purchase, he/she would PM me. Then every order is manually processed, so we have not to worry about a business going out of business. Even if they do, there is always a substitute.
