PP Do it Again

I just love paypal. I really do. Never in my life have I spent so much time trying to bypass a company.

Well that's not strictly true, I put a lot of effort into avoiding Microsoft too. But seriously how, now that Paypal have increased fees yet again, this time basically doing away with free accounts, how can we work?

I kind of relied on the service, and have a business account. But now people I send money to have to pay as well.... and that seems unfair when they are not a business.

Have you found an alternate service?

I don't think there are any good alternative of Paypal but there are ways to save Paypal fees such as Mass Pay/Gift option...try out to stumble upon more option.

Not sure about other places but in Canada you can email money using the bill payment option in your online interface.
The money is transferred into the bank account of the email recipient.
No banking information is ever exchanged between users.

There is also Hyperwallet.com

Yes, if it was solely transactions within the UK I could use bill pay. I can't do that with my bank, so I need something else.

How reliable and trustworthy are hyperwallet? I've not heard of them and am always a little worried about starting something new.

We don't don't need to look for an alternative service. PayPal is great and is obviously here to stay. They're pricing is good, support is good.

Their pricing is good within a country, I don't mind that. But when you are looking at international payments in another currency, I believe the last time I did it they charged me almost 10%. I found it way too high I'm afraid.

How long have you been using HyperWallet, Blue. We're using PayPal for some segments, but are open to testing other systems.

I really don't think that much of PayPal support. There was an account I once had that I had to close because they wouldn't let me remove a second name that was associated with it. I was divorcing said name so I really didn't want it on my business dealings anymore, and they refused without his say so. In some ways I can understand it, but all the same it was a royal inconvenience.

That's bad news...I'm only using PayPal because it's accepted at so many places. But given a better alternative I would switch.

Given the extreme trust that the PayPal logo tends to instill in users worldwide, I think the fees are fair. Also note that, as you move up the scale of incoming funds, the fee rates can be lowered on request.

The only other processor I've used is 2CO and they were not good on many levels, namely support and customer trust.

What other choice do you have besides turning it down?
