Hello HD.com Members

OK So I have been using paypal for about 2 years now and I use whmcs as my billing system.

Here is the thing, I am wondering if there is anything else out there that is better then paypal which in return does not place limits on accounts with those people whom do not wish to place Banking or Credit card info on there account.

2CO is very $$$$ to become a acceptor of money.

I am wanting to offer my clients more ways to be able to pay. I feel Paypal does not respect use as business especial when they know you are right about something and they go against you on.

Please let me know your thoughts.

thanks

If you want to have a Premier or Business Verified PayPal account, you will need to add a bank account or credit card. I would personally never do "business" with any business using a personal PayPal account to accept payments..

If you do not want to accept credit card payments directly on your website using a merchant account, then you will have to settle for third party payment processors like PayPal, 2CO, AlertPay, Moneybookers, ect.., that's all there is to it. :)

I agree. A "business" that doesn't have a verified PayPal account is not very appealing from a consumer standpoint.

I shall suggest you to go with the google checkout , It is better as compared to any other online payments gateways.

Are you talking about the application fee ($49)? If so, I don't think $49 is unacceptable.

So your telling me that if I do not have a certain form of account that you would not do business with me.

That sucks to be honest with you, as I have dealt with a lot of people that do not have premium accounts...

Thanks

If you are a business, yet don't have a business account, how is someone supposed to take your business seriously?

This goes to the elements of know, like and trust. When I know someone, I'm more apt to trust them and do business with them. However, if I don't know them, there needs to be other factors - like having a premium account (that lends to trust). :D

Perhaps you misunderstood me. :) I'm not talking about clients paying you with their Personal PayPal account... Have you really purchased from online businesses using PayPal, but the seller had a Personal PayPal account to receive your money, and not Premier or Business account? I highly doubt this...

If you're a business, it it very important that you project a professional image, and using a personal PayPal account to receive payments for your business is NOT professional, at all. So, no, I would not do business with a company like that. I want to know who exactly I'm giving my money to, as any informed buyer would. Just my :twocents:..

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a quick question, when you create the new paypal account for the business, do you use the same address as the personal one?

If you use personal or premier paypal account the customers will see your name at the time of payment, which may make them cancel the order. get a bussiness account.
@ez2houst - Yes, the same address you can also enter your biz account if you have one. it doesnt matter.

If you are in business you should use business account period.

I guess 2CO is good option to have. It not only support Credit/Debit Cards but people using PayPal can only pay through it.

PayPal is good, but 2CO is BETTER.
With 2Co, you have a fraud review for free with every order and it protects you against fraudulent orders.
The best alternative to PayPal in my opinion is MoneyBookers, as it is accepted all over the world. PayPal is not accepted everywhere.

That's the reality of doing business online. Consumers are cautious and they have good reason to be.

PayPal is just like AdSense. It's one of those services that can be great depending on how you use it.

I'd recommend getting that verified account and continuing to use PayPal. PayPal's fees are so low that it really is worth it. Plus if you have a significant amount of clients, it would just be natural to open a bank account for your business.

Any credit card company would want you to have a bank account and company credit card, so you might as well start now.
