Hi

I would like to know opinion about micfo in terms of

1. Uptime
2. Support
3. Speed.

I have seen some very -ve posts at WHT and that concerns me :(. I know this forum is hosted by micfo and thats the reason I am asking this question.

I tried verious hosts and at the end I am totally confused on which host to finalize.

Here are my other optioins

1. Site5
2. LP

Help me come to conclusion please

I would say they are a great host. I have no direct experience with them, but HostingDiscussion is always up, so they can't be too bad :)

Wow, you leave a lot of space for guess work. Site5 and LP - you mean LunarPages?

As for my experience goes, you already know we are hosted at Micfo and so far we're doing great. Actually I keep all my sites with them. Personally I wasn't looking for a host that would give me the world for $5, but I was rather shopping for more than just a host, a partner who would respond fast and serve us with top priority and a high grade of professionalism. Money - its just a matter of how satisfied you are. If you have the resources you need and you are satisfied with support, then the price you pay is THE price you should be paying.

At the same time there are many great hosts out there, you just need to really research them out. Our moderator Dan, does a good job at reviewing some of the most respected hosts at his web site: http://www.whreviews.com Check it out.

Good luck,

Thanks

Artashes,

Thanks for your positive words. This site and your review of micfo helped me to choose micfo. Hope my decision comes out to be correct :)

but somewhere I wonder why there is little negative air about micfo at WHT

cheers :)

Well, don't get too spoiled with my recommendation just because I have an X amount of posts here. Try to ask other customers (Micfo.com does have a forum) how the service is, what they like, what they dislike, just to verify my words and learn something new.

As for negative air, I can fill you in on this. Again, this is my perspective. Micfo previously owned HostMatix.com with great success, but then 1 year later they decided to sell the venture to another respectable hosting vendor, who, for some reason, did not expect such a business overload HostMatix was causing. The service was getting bad, a lot of mistakes and issues were not solved, customers got mad at now Micfo management for selling the company. That was the long story made short. ;)

Best,

Pingme,

I don't think you'll be disapointed with Micfo. I've been with them for about three months now and have grown to love it. Early on there were some issues with the server I was placed on, bad motherboard, datacenter didn't have replacement, DELL taking longer than promised to replace it. Micfo was great about how they handled it. This month there was one brief unplanned outage due to one site going bonkers and using all the resources. There was also a planned outage while Micfo had new switches installed on the servers, now they can remote reboot a hosed server and don't have to depend on someone at the data center to do it.

Here's the proof (I monitor one of my sites) SITEUPTIME
If you subtract out the planned (and announced) downtime Micfo maintained their promised 99.9 uptime.

Artrashes, TRau,

Thanks for your replies and the information you have provided. This gives me little more comfort :)

You will always hear good and bad about any host that has been around for longer than a year or so. For example, AT&T Long Distance is a great phone company. But, you can find people that like them and some that don't.

My $0.02
