I saw antoher topic like this, and decided to make my own of past hosting expierences.
My first webhost, http://www.renhosting.com was awful. The site was down 70% of the time. Support was non exsistent. This was quite a long time ago though!
My second webhost (http://www.fusion3k.com) was a bit better, up time was decent. But then they did a server move and had a great deal of trouble. Support only existed via email, and they didn't respond.
My next webhost was http://www.orphus.net - uptime was around 95%, support existed through a ticket system, although responses were generally 2 -3 days later. This company just disappeared one day, all there servers went down and never came back.
I've also used http://www.ipowerweb.com - support was good, but speed and feature wise they just didn't deliver.
My current webhost, http://www.mpahosting.com , which i've been wtih for over a year now, is by far the best webhost i've ever had. They offer support via ticket system, and also via phone (not an 800 # though...) response times in the ticket system are generally 1-3 hours. Reliablity wise they have not yet failed there 99.9% up time gaurantee. I've never seen my site down actually, so perhaps they've suprassed it. ALso by far the fastest web host i've ever used, and they seem comitted to keeping it that way. I've gone through one "network renovation" as they called it, which requird no action on my part, had zero down time, and i did notice some improvements. Nice! Although price isn't really a concern to me, if you have good service, mpahosting is actually priced below my old webhosts. Overall I would highly recomend this company for your linux hosting needs. they also informed me they plan to offer windows 2003 hosting within the next 2 weeks.
