I lately got massively attacked due to hosting a Tibia-gaming server and a website, the attack that was directed towards me also slowed down over 200 other home internet users, therefore I am not able to host it myself anymore. I hosted it for 4 years until it came to an end due to a DoS attack.

I am in need of a dedicated server, not too expensive though as my level of income is not so high.

Some information about the gaming server. So, most of the time from 140 to 300 people are online at the same time, also the webpage is used often. Tibia is a 2d roleplaying game. I hosted it with a 1MBits upload speed and of course it lagged a bit, but not that badly. I live in Finland so the gamingserver was hosted at my house aswell.

What kind of a dedicated server would you recommend for a guy who hosts a tibiaserver that surely does not require a super computer to run it. The OS has to be windows though, I am pretty sure that it would not run on other systems.

Something about the specs. It should be located in Europe. Germany, Sweden or some other country that can provide high-speed connections. RAM amount is most like from 1GB to 2GB. About processor I really have no idea, but above 2GHz. I am not sure about whether it should be a dualcore or something else.
What about the traffic limit? I barely understand how much it should be.

I am not sure how expensive they really are, I did some research through google, though. I only found dedicated servers that cost 400 euros. Too expensive for a young lad to pay a month.

What other things are required? Remote desktop control and such. What are the most important things to have on a dedicated server?

My budget would be around 50-100 Euros a month.

Sincerely, yours, Joel.A

I can't provide you with what you're looking for; but I do have an additional suggestion. When you get a list of providers to check out, ask them how they handle DDoS attacks: would they temporarily isolate your server from the rest of their network for the duration of the attack, to protect their other clients? Would they encourage you to seek hosting elsewhere after several such attacks? You might want to know this going in.

$64.49-$128.98 that is how much it equals in USD. That budget might be enough depending on the space and bandwidth you buy with the server, as the ram will be pricey as well as space.

80GB space
2,000GB bandwidth
1-2GB ram
+ cpanel
$100+ is what your looking at.

Could anybody recommend a company providing decent dedicated servers with pretty low prices in Europe?

Does anybody have more information about these?

Thanks, yours, Joel

I'm not based in Europe, and don't know any providers in Europe, specifically. I know of a few in the US, and Australia. Nothing in Europe. (They must exist; I just don't know of them.)

Sorry I can't be of more assistance; but didn't want you to think your request was being ignored. I just can't provide what you're looking for, or even give you any suggestions.

Current Eruo conversions to US Dollars are 1 euro = 1.2898 (according to Google). 400 Euro would be about $515 US Dollars.

A low end server (which is what I'd expect you're looking for) should run in the $120-160 range (plus add windows software). 1and1.com are a very popular datacenter in Europe - many data centers located in Germany. While I personally use ones here in the United States, 1&1 does have their own DataCenters which may be of use to you.

Theplanet has some really good dedicated servers starting at $89 a month. I would go check them out and see if you like them and if they meet your requirements. Best of luck!!

I am seeing that GBP 50-100 is more than enough to buy a decent Quad core processor server, try tailormadeservers.com or take2hosting.com surely they can give you a good competitive server
