Just had someone come in as a porn director and wanted the e-mail for this girl(display image) on website. If that was not a troll then the guy needs some serious help.

Haha, that's quite funny, boy do you get some strangers on chat!

we get at least 2 a month.

I remember one chat a few weeks ago, when i was asked if i knew the number of a cab firm in chicago. I am in the UK but our main server is in chicago.

Pleanty of strange chat conversations. It makes you wonder if they are on the right site sometimes, as some of the chat sessions seem to have nothing to do with our offerings!

i wonder that too.

I had someone who would come on livechat several times a week using a different name and chatting about different things (must not know that our live chat logs their IP etc which was the same IP) blocked this but this still continues with an IP in the same subnet. these belonged to OVH in france. after showing the evidence OVH refused to do anything about this as these were not emails and had no header info to show it was from their network. these from their subnet stopped as soon as i told OVH that i would report them to their local authority and have their servers taken down by reporting them as the actual spammers of my system.

I had one the other week that just about made me spit my coffee all over the keyboard. It was a quiet morning, no major fires to put out, no insane list of support tickets with "I forgot my password", 2nd chat of the day actually. The guy came in and let's just say he wanted to get to know me better, but that is not exactly the words he used. I could not help but chuckle a little. ;)

you got him too, i just told him that he has come through to the ***** police chat service and he hung up

Well, we had someone lately asked us what Linux exactly is..
other than fun, if you use your own-coded LiveChat program, fewer spammers will come to it

Did the chat come from a proxy and use fake info? If so it's safe to assume the person had nothing better to do and was just having fun with ya.

We usually get ones asking something like.. " So that $2.99 package. That's a one time fee right?"

Oh yea.. hosting for life for only 2.99 :uhh:

I've previously experienced the occasional high school/college student trying to waste some time :).

Just really go with it and have some fun there :) - The things some people come up with...

Ah, I love those random screwballs, one can always brighten your day :D

Actually most of the times they are quite harmless and heaps of fun, the only negative they tend to have is taking time off the Sales Rep. But if its a quiet shift why not have a chuckle

Still there need to be boundaries and if the conversation starts to get offensive or abusive the rep needs to make a warning and eventually may need to disconnect/ban the visitor :banned:

You always get the odd joker on live chat it can be fun at times, but hey it gives us a smile for the day! At the least
