Linux is stable, it's open source so you can fix almost all issues if you really know in and out but with windows at some point you will hit dead end.

I know one thing for sure - when I first tried setting up a windows server for some vpn tunneling for the first time i just hated it. The gui, the services installations, firewall rules... all of which were are breeze to figure and setup in Linux.

Linux is stable, it's open source so you can fix almost all issues if you really know in and out but with windows at some point you will hit dead end.

The main reason is that PHP, on which most sites work, is a Linux environment. Yes, you can run under Windows, but Linux is native. Those, if more sites on ASP prevailed, then the advantage would be different.

Windows is a failure because it COULD be more stable, but the updating process is lengthy and bloated. Linux is the industry standard these days for a reason. Far from perfect Linux is, of course, for example the recent betrayal of CentOS and forcing cPanel operators to migrate. Uggh!

This theory is obsolete! It is not possible to say for sure which one is better or has better performance? Each one is made for a specific purpose, as the famous proverb says; they made it round for that purpose, otherwise they would have made something like an axe!
