Of course Xeons retain their value to this day, but growing numbers of providers are offering AMD processor servers, and more and more consumers are switching from Intel to AMD. That's kind of a broad statement about only using Intel - reminds me back when many refused to update to Windows 95 from Windows 3.1. One thing for sure - this industry evolves quickly. If you do some research, you'll see AMD is outperforming Intel on a number of fronts already.Xeons will always rule the server market in my opinion. The old Xeons still hold their value to this day, and I wouldn't use any other processor for a server. I wasn't even aware AMD had a server based processor that could compete with Xeon.
