Hello,
One of my friends is looking to host its service-based website. So, anyone can suggest me some web hosting services for the same.
Currently, I have suggested to him shared hosting services, is it right? 🆘

It all depends on the requirements. If it's not heavy and little traffic as for start, then most of the shared hosting providers should suit such needs. The only suggestion is to carefully check TOS/AUP. However, in such a scenario there some issues can happen (like server overloaded or IP blacklisted because of other clients located on the same server). Also you won't be able to install any kind of custom software if needed, in such case you need to go with VPS/dedicated or Cloud server where have full access and can install anything you ned.

I'd always start with shared / web hosting unless you require dedicated resources to run your website due to requirements. You can then always upgrade to a virtual server / dedicated server if and when needed.

Is this site under development or hosted elsewhere already? What are your projected resource requirements? Are they under budget restraints?

Research hosting companies thoroughly. See customers reviews, overall make sure that they are in good standing.

It depends on his requirements, and what site does he want to host...

I would start with a smaller VPS though.

Everything depends on the requirement, quality, and support
I suggest that - Before choosing any hosting provider check reviews and support system, otherwise you can directly buy a dedicated server, install cPanel / WHM script and host your all the website

It completely depends on his requirements. Which software do they plan to install on their website? Is it ecommerce website? How about the traffic.

If its a low traffic website or a startup one, it is fine to start with shared hosting services otherwise its good to consider Cloud, VPS or dedicated servers.

Choosing a Web host provider is one of the most important steps when you start an online business. A web host provider is a service that provides server space where you will store and launch your website so it is visible by the online community.

These are the six things to consider when choosing a provider:

Cost
Reliability
Customer Service
Features
Bandwidth

A web hosting service quality can provide the necessary foundation to grow your online business. However, without the flexibility of the hosting provider to less than adequate for current needs, so make sure that service is reliable and scalable.

Cost would be way down the list as the most important factor is how reliable is the server and hosting provider, as you could be $1 and get the most reliable server/service or pay $1 and get the worst server/service, but you could also pay $5000 and get the most reliable server/service or pay $5000 and get the worst server/service

Just make sure, whoever you pick, to do your homework. Web hosting is kinda like going on a job interview.. "its all about being at the right place at the right time." just because 50 other people may have bad experiences, doesn't mean you will.

web hosting is fairly cheap nowadays. i would look for these components. Reliability, Customer Service and Features. depending on what services you may or may not use.

When selecting a web host provider, think of that you do get what you pay for. The extra you pay the additional features from web hosts offer. Remember to use a web host that has been around for a few years, specifying their proven background of success, rather than web hosts that seem to pop up in a day's time.

You should also put in a fair amount of research into choosing the web host provider for you web presence. Studying the web host provider and its interpretations will aid you in selecting the right web host for your requirements. Examining the web host would give you a good idea of how they work. Possibly keeping you from the concern of annoyances and having to discover a new web host provider just a few short months down the road.

You should deliberate using one web host provider who will serve all your needs, rather than outsourcing different areas to different companies. Select a web host provider who can provide web design, web development and updates for your web site, depending on your needs and resources.

Not really as a web hosts primary job is only to provide space for you to display your website and make sure the server is running smoothly and securely. It is not a web hosts job to design, develop or update your website, that is your responsibility. Yes some hosts may offer these as additional services, but you should not be using this as a criteria to find a host.
So you should find a host that is a CA, run their own scripts and sells domains direct etc. this will rule out 99.99% of hosts as 99.99% of hosts will resell (outsource) SSL Certificates, Domain Services, Scripts etc.

If it is a website that is fine to run on a shared hosting environment in terms of scripting and resources then a shared host is your best option. Because it is the most simple and it save you cost.

At the beginning stage of the website, Shared Hosting will work fine. But in the future when the traffic grows and the needs for resources increase then he should migrate to Dedicated Server Hosting.

Also before picking the hosting provider read their customer reviews, check out their services, and speak to their technical support team to get a detailed insight.

This is very dependent on what you want from a web host. Companies that have the cheapest hosting plans can not have the best protection or the fastest speeds. There's also the controlled vs. unmanaged hosting distinction to remember.

A managed host will spend time maintaining the server, while an unmanaged host will simply send you your logins and leave you to it.

Depends on what you call cheap, as it may be cheap to you, but not cheap to others. I have plans at £5 a mth and have top-notch protection and top speeds on my server and still make a profit. I could drop to £3 a mth and still make a profit
