Greetings all,

It has finally happened! HostingDiscussion.com has merged with two other excellent forums (HostingRefuge.com and TalkWebHosts.com). Not only do we now have an amazing group of people participating, we are a small effort away from breaking the 10,000 membership number.

Following the merger, we ask all HostingDiscussion.com members to exercise patience as we fine-tune the forum and work through countless tasks to improve your experience.


HOW TO CHANGE YOUR USERNAME

If you were a member of HostingRefuge.com or TalkWebHosts.com, you might have your username displayed as "imported_NAME". This is due to special software used in the process. If you would like to change your username, please submit a ticket via our Helpdesk at http://www.hostingdiscussion.com/helpdesk/

HELP US GET ORGANIZED: MISPLACED THREADS

Take part in making HostingDiscussion.com organized again! No matter how good we are at fishing through forums, thread by thread, we might overlook something obvious. If you notice a thread that is better suited in a different forum category, please use the "Report Post" button to let us know.

Thank you, virdave! And thanks for the comments on the new logo. Its actually only going to get better... :shh:

Enrique has really gave all that he had. He spent the whole night merging the forums and I think he was still working on it at 5 AM when I couldn't take it anymore. :D Big kudos to Enrique!

Matthew of HostingRefuge.com and Alberto of TalkWebHosts.com have also done superb job in keeping their members informed, and I also thank them for their kind support.

The work is not over for us. There are still about 29 things to be done on the list of 30. This was just the first step. Phew...

PS: If you notice that the forum at times looks funny with different button designs, don't be too harsh on us. It won't stay like this forever. :)
 
Great news Art. I saw it earlier offline (closed for maintenance actually), and I knew that the wheels were set in motion. :)

Can't wait to see HER in the new dress you keep in the closet. :P

Congratulations on a successful merger. One more thing you may want to address is allowing users to request their accounts be merged if they had an account on two or more of the old forums.

Enrique has advised the following:

When the software finds multiple accounts using the same email, the accounts are merged into one.

Example: If you were registered on HostingRefuge.com (source forum) under the username “Galaxy” and on HostingDiscussion.com (target forum) under the username “Galaxy-Hosts”, and both accounts were using the same email, then “Galaxy” will be merged into “Galaxy-Hosts”.

I hope that clarifies the issue. :)
 
Greetings all,

When you try accessing user control panel (User CP in top navigation), the site produces a strange database error. While we are investigating the issue, I don't think it warrants forum to be closed as everything else seems to be functioning well.

Quick update: The problem accessing user control panels has been corrected. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
 
I just had a quick look around and all is looking good :) I will keep checking and let you know of any problems I run in to. Just give me a shout if you need anything.

Yes I can see why. But looks like you have honestly pulled it off with just the normal issues. Congrats to the team.

I think this merger was a great move to bring together 2 respected hosting forums into 1 masterpiece. I can't wait to see the upcoming changes in the future.

I have to say I hope you guys take the site back to the portal type look you had before. I think the plain forum look just does not cut it. The past design was great except for the slow loading issue at the end. :shaky:

All in all a great job guys. :thumbsup:
