cost-less way of web hosting

A free web host is the most cost-less way of hosting. Doesn't mean you will get quality but that is the most honest answer to your question :).

For most cost effective way of web hosting then a shared package (which can be as low as $3 - $4 per month including a free domain in some cases such as ours) would be best.

Remember a companies costs up as they grow - significantly. You want a company that can support that growth and in most cases a free provider can't.

The actual question is - are there any ways to receive a good hosting service without paying for it?

The answer is - ask for a sponsorship, offer something of mutual benefit to a hosting company... Sometimes spreading the word of hosting provider's generosity amongst 20k+ of your Twitter followers is much more valuable than $10 you would pay for that hosting package.

Or go for a free crap like free hosting mentioned above.

A good cost-less way of web hosting? Join a web host affiliate program and refer as little as 1 client to the web host and use the commissions to pay for hosting.

For example, our affiliate program. Tier 1 gives $70 per sale, tier 4 gives $135 per sale.

Throw in a 25% life discount and you got yourself 2 years worth of web hosting and a free domain from that single affiliate sale (on tier 1). 1 year without a discount code.

Pretty easy and well worth it ;)

It is important to sign up for a web hosting company that provides with good customer service. I don't think a free web hosting service will provide with good customer service and server maintenance.

A good value, good host will cost you less in the long run than a free host,
That is if you value your time.

A free host can be cost-less and still provide top notch services but the main thing it comes down to is that provider going to be able to provide such service for cox amount of time. Most times with free hosts it's just a matter of time of either them giving up or being shut down from not being able to pay bills.

Costs deal with a lot more than money. What does a free or "cheap" host cost you when it offers poor quality? Is that cost an affordable one? In other words can you afford the consequences of poor quality?

Don't got with a free host. You'd rather want to spend a little bit on paid hosting as that will pay you back in uptime and support reliability.

You could get low budget web hosting, you will find many service provider in this segment. However, do not believe in free web hosting as there are no free lunches.

I agree! It is better to opt for affordable web hosting but not free web hosting. Free web hosting will not provide you with the desired support for the web hosting services.

Read through the plan you have selected and write down on a piece of paper what they are offering you. Do you understand everything?

A Shared Hosting with lifetime offer and a low end unmanaged vps would do the needful.

I disagree. Low End VPSs will not cost less than shared hosting, and introduce all manner of issues to solve yourself.

Anyone looking for "low cost" or "free" hosting must work out first.

  • what their own time is worth
  • how knowledgeable around hosting they are
  • how much do they lose if their site is down

If their business is worth anything they would be better off weighing things up.

We used to offer Low-End boxes, but low memory causes issues of performance unpredicatably, and requires constant attention, by the developer, in stark contrast to a massive shared server.
