Cloud flare and other cdn'a

Ive seen lots of talk about the security around cdns but i was also curious about something else.

With The manner in which cdn;s like cloud-flare for example , store and serve data , are there any effects on your search engine rankings? I.e Does it effect google spiders , does cached old content get served if you dont cache flush after updates, and the many other factors i have probably not considered.

I have seen some clients with ranking drops restored after signing up and signing off. Yet for the most part clients stay the same and some increase f they have had a heavy static loaded site.

The experience with a CDN is not a one size fits all, for some it can have a tremendous increase in performance, but you're also putting your trust in the speed and network of the CDN, if their servers are slow some of your sites material may be slow also effecting PageRanking.

If you are asking if it has any negative effects, - then no

Since CF essentially speeds up the website, the rankings could only get better due to the increased website speed optimisation.

Like i explained the speed benefits are really only relevant to people with a heavy website due to multiple HTTP requests and not file size necessarily to these the speed increase may be beneficial ..

However on another not i have read a study that shows no correlation between dom loading time and ranking it does interestingly show one with time to first byte and ranking. This is why i opted cf. Its still very much plausible that in some rare cases cf can cause negative seo impact however ive seen it tested it , and read about it, it does seem extremely rare though , and nobody seems to know what the cause is.

The benefits from cf for me where almost nothing speed or ttfb wise , so i changed nothing by returning to my original name server except regaining rankings .
 
it would hurt your SEO as your URL of some files/pages would be changed to cdn url. If you buy premium service from clioudflare then you could have your own same url without showing cdn url. i hope that help
 
Personally I use cloud flare and have never had a problem, you have plenty of settings to change and you can even choose the browser cache expiry.
 
Looking into cloud flare again

Im not sure what caused my issues but i want to look into it again , i visited a site last week that was down but cloud flare live kept it up , that was pretty col to me, that it served a version of the website / also it seems everywhere i ask this is the best solution to DDos attacks.
 
CloudFlare can slow things down, it can speed things up - it's just like any other tool. If used properly it does it's job. If it isn't used properly it can make things worse.
 
cloudfalre and same services absolutely don't have any effects ( positive or negative) on google ranking
i have 7 websites more than 4 years on cloudflare
with or without cluodflare your ranking doesn't change
 
We have used CloudFlare and Incapsula for years - Great services, and yes if used correctly they are a welcome addition. They both have massive anycast networks and provide robust solutions for web site performance globally as well as security and reporting.
 
Would recommend CDN usage if the target audience of your site are visitors from all over the world. As CDN is a group of servers located in different places and connected to a single network, thus it means that many-many copies of your website are distributed throughout entire network (i.e. all over the world). So if particular users visit the website, it loads a copy of your website from the nearest server location - this significantly speeds up your website performance. Many hosting providers provide CDN service, like MaxCDN, Amazon, Hostpro, CloudFront, FastNext.com etc.
 
CloudFlare is always best, it is free service. I have used and there no bad result. You will find the drastic difference in the web traffic.

Now a days, Amazon's cloud service is widely used.
 
We've never seen an issue with SEO Rankings when it comes to using a Content Delivery Network. We use several dozen services with clients and never had an issue. Normally we see a ranking INCREASE as the speed of the website affects SEO rankings these days too.

Depending on the site however, you may not NEED a CDN - it's not for everyone.
 
Hi,

I don't think Cloudflare effect to web site or search ranking. And i personally use them and nothing experienced like this . Nowadays most of popular web sites use cloudflare

So no need to get scared about it
 
Cloud flare is free and best for your security purpose and many more. I also believe in cloud flare and use it personally.
Their are many features that can boost your seo ranking on web and can boost up your web page speed.

Not true. Cloudflare is 100% free for small and large websites. Just because they say "small, personal websites" doesn't mean it's not for business sites

They don't measure traffic, they don't care how big the website is, or how small. They don't care if it's professional, or personal... It's free
