Just curious as to why the Christmasy/Wintery smilies are here:

From maintenance perspective, it is just easier if they just stay there, instead of us adding/removing smilies every year and for every occasion. Not to mention that some of us live in some very cold geographical regions where cold weather and snow takes up bigger part of the year. :winter:
