Bonuses for yearly payments

Is that good ? Is that still works as promotion material ? It seems to be nowadays, too much people focus on less than $5 monthly hosting plans. What do you think about yearly, quarterly and monthly plans and bonuses for each hosting-plan ?

We offer savings if you pay yearly. It certainly does, while people are going for the cheap monthly plans, they still look to save money everywhere. Thus going for the $1/month for 10GB space 100GB bandwidth then wondering why it disappeared 2 weeks later.

I am also agree with Cats-Computing people who are looking for Cheap hosting would like to save money every where ;) They even wait for occational offers some time.

definitely works - many of our clients llike to pay yearly. Many also like to pay yearly for reseller accounts if they see a saving.

as a customer i could see paying yearly if i knew there were other expenses on the horizon, like flash vendors or vbulletin licenses. But if it's too cheap i just don't beleive it.

I shop hosting from reliable contacts, presences in some web communities where the entity might suffer if i started jumping up and down saying no web site no web site.

I've been lucky to bump into some real professionals and have been very pleased(and surprised).

For hosts looking for new business, i suggest cosying up to websigners. I am the one making hosting decisions, often placing them (hosting plans) inside a package for my client. that becomes a new client for the host when i let the "baby swim on its own".

Often i am not only looking for good software and cpanel robustness for me but for when the site owner has to take up the reins. it's chump to leave them in the lurch with clumsy tools.

We offer a decent savings, plus a free domain at the moment. Doesn't make for a great income per say, but annual sign up rates increase dramatically.

Well i think it's a combination of both. It works because you get the payment for a year in advance and the clients too get to pay less than they would otherwise pay in monthly or quarterly. It works as a promotion depending on the amount of bonus you offer.

I usually get attracted to alot of yearly plans with bonuses. It's a great sales strategy IMO! :)

The best thing that I have seen recently is a hostingprovider giving away free ipods with the purchase of a reseller hosting plan which is held for three months. What better way to spark business then to actually do this? If the customers are happy after this three month period then you have opened up a new avenue by tempting them with a gift. I think more providers should do something similar.

For our 1,000 client, were giving away 12 months of free dedicated server hosting. We cant wait until this happens, and its going to heppen next moth at the rate were going.

it is both a good sales strategy and many people not want to pay each month and they like to pay one time every year if the hosting plan they have purchased is not relatively expensive.

For plans over $100/month (for example dedicated server rentals) Paying monthly or quearterly is a preferable option.

That's a nice strategy. I think giving away bonuses surely attracts customers. From the viewpoint of hosts, getting money for 1 year upfront is important for their cashflows and many hosts will prefer getting upfront payments rather than monthly payments in my opinion.

Yes. You can't go wrong with promotions, customers love them, it's a great marketing strategy, just make sure after the promotion you are not in the hole for that sale.
