Best Servers porovider?

Hi,

I have a VPS server with CentOS and cPanel. I want to choose a reliable server management service, at a reasonable price. Now I have several problems:

1. Although there are so many server management service companies, there are not so many reviews or ratings on them. For hosting providers, I can easily get reliable reviews from godaddy, hostgator and <URL snipped> but for server management service, even I try to google with keyword “server management service provider review” or “server management service provider rating”, I cannot get any comprehensive review listing at all.
2. What I need is top 3 or top 10 players in this industry. So that I can choose from them based on my requirements. But now I feel I am totally in dark.
3. You will get what you paid. So normally I will think a too cheap service will not provide good service. However, platinum server management charges only 29 USD per month, but they still have a good reputation, which makes me totally confused.
4. I try to sign up an account on platinum server management. And they provide the login details to me. I notice that the password is not strong enough(only 12 characters without any special characters), and they do not provide an easy way to update the password. It seems that their system is out-dated and the security is low. If they manage my server, surely the security of my server will also be lowered as well. Does anyone have similar worries?

Depending on budget, and needs - there are two types of management:
Reactive - meaning you have to ask to get things done.
Proactive - done without asking.

The main 3 players that come to my mind:
Platinumservermanagement - reactive.
Rack911 - proactive.
AdminGeekz - proactive.

PSM being the cheapest at $29 monthly.
The other 2 are at least $150 monthly.

I've used all 3 of them, on various occasions for personal, and side projects.

Other providers prices vary. But those 3 are the ones that I know have ratings.

Don't look for top 10 reviews.

They use a custom system AFAIK. They've mentioned it multiple times in different threads on another forum.
You're best off asking them about any password updates.

A lot of managed server hosting companies are utilizing the above-mentioned server management services and will offer this as an added value or upsell.

This can actually be the best solution. As it allows you to have your server managed within one panel and there should be some level of ticket history on your server, which could be helpful in diagnosing complicate data support issues.

You can get managed server, the server provider will be responsible for server management.

On the other hand platinum server management is good company you can rely on them.

We use PSM for management. There pricing is very inexpensive at $29 for the first server then $19 for additional ones. We use them mostly for security and monthly maintenance. I do find that they are slower then most companies but the quality is great.

A better way to stay on the safer side of the fence is through Hosting on Dedicated Servers.

It is in the long run better to invest in a dedicated server that will offer you maximum value for your money, with better guarantees for return on investments.
