The second involves quantum infrastructure partnerships with Welinq and Quobly, aimed at connecting quantum computing resources with classical cloud infrastructure as that technology matures toward practical use.

Neither is finished. Both are deliberate.

OVHai Workspace takes its sharpest angle not on features but on encryption. When users enable end-to-end encryption, search and agentic AI functions run locally on the device rather than processing sensitive content through central servers. That design choice addresses something most enterprise buyers think about but rarely discuss openly: AI-enabled productivity tools can read the same collaboration data that legal, finance, and executive teams use every day. Running those functions locally reduces that exposure considerably, though it also introduces questions around endpoint performance, key recovery, and how encrypted content handles legal discovery requirements.

OVHcloud already handles more than 4 million email accounts and more than 100 million phone calls monthly across its customer base. That gives the Workspace product a distribution base to work from. Whether regulated enterprises and public sector organizations actually move day-to-day workflows onto a new platform is a separate and harder question. Microsoft and Google do not hold their positions purely through product quality. They hold them through years of accumulated workflow integration, identity management, and partner ecosystem depth.

The quantum track is earlier still. OVHcloud’s Quantum Platform expects to add Quobly’s silicon spin-qubit system in late 2026, joining planned access to Pasqal and Quandela technologies. Working with Welinq on interconnection and orchestration addresses a genuine technical problem: quantum computing will not standardize around a single hardware approach, and enterprises will need ways to route workloads across different systems without building isolated environments around each vendor.

Together, both announcements point toward the same underlying position. OVHcloud is responding to European buyers who are asking harder questions about data control, AI governance, and long-term infrastructure independence, and trying to answer with architecture rather than statements.

OVHcloud announced two things this week that sit at opposite ends of the enterprise readiness spectrum, and understanding the gap between them matters as much as the announcements themselves.
