They call it the Backup Agent. This move comes at a time when people are talking more and more about data resilience\u2014turns out, disaster recovery plans often don\u2019t match up with what really happens on the ground<\/p>\n<p>Organizations have been struggling with cloud infrastructure for years, and recovery processes remain a challenge. Industry research published by Gartner in mid 2025 pointed out that a large share of enterprises remain poorly positioned to respond to disruption, often because backup strategies grow too complex or remain incomplete. As a result, confidence frequently outpaces preparedness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"input-sentence~1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ovhcloud.com\/asia\/storage-solutions\/backup-agent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">OVHcloud\u2019s new Backup Agent<\/a> focuses on removing friction at the baseline level.<\/span><span id=\"aidr-input-non-human-chunk\"><\/span> <span id=\"input-sentence~2\">Customers can activate the service directly through the OVHcloud control panel or API, and deployment typically completes within minutes.<\/span> <span id=\"input-sentence~3\">Once active, the system stores backup data in a separate geographic location from the production Bare Metal server, which reduces exposure during ransomware incidents or operational mistakes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"input-sentence~4\">Security design plays a central role. The Backup Agent uses <a href=\"https:\/\/hostingdiscussion.com\/news\/hpe-veeam-expand-collaboration-as-enterprises-confront-rising-hybrid-cloud-complexity\/\">Veeam technology<\/a> and keeps all data within OVHcloud infrastructure. Encryption protects data at rest, while immutability prevents changes after backup creation.<\/span> <span id=\"input-sentence~5\">In addition, Object Storage underpins the service and operates with a published service level agreement, which supports predictable recovery performance when systems fail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"input-sentence~6\">Cost structure also influences adoption. OVHcloud applies the same pricing model used for its Object Storage Standard service and avoids additional licensing or retrieval fees. Therefore, customers can plan recovery without introducing new financial variables that only appear during incidents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"input-sentence~7\">At launch, the Backup Agent supports Bare Metal customers across OVHcloud data centers in Europe. The firm intends to expand this to Canada and the Asia Pacific region later in the year. <a href=\"https:\/\/hostingdiscussion.com\/news\/ovhcloud-starts-fy2026-with-measured-growth-as-sovereignty-ai-shape-buyer-priorities\/\">OVHcloud<\/a> has also indicated future releases that will enhance visibility and automation, such as support for AI-driven operational tooling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"input-sentence~8\">As the number of attacks and regulatory forces rise, there is a growing demand for infrastructure vendors to be more transparent and offer control.
