VMware<\/a> customers are encountering another difficult move as Broadcom finds it challenging to finish the transfer from the long standing VMware Cloud Services Portal<\/a> to their new Cloud Services Console. The company originally billed the project as an upgrade to streamline the customer experience, but it has delayed the rollout multiple times, leaving users in limbo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company first notified customers in late August that the switch would begin in September. By mid-month, VMware<\/a> set a migration window between September 19 and 21, warning that the existing portal would operate in read-only mode during the process. Yet on the very day the move was supposed to be finalized, VMware told customers the launch would not proceed as planned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Broadcom<\/a> attempted to reschedule for the following weekend, only to hit another setback. Emails sent during that period included conflicting updates. On September 26, VMware told customers the change would occur that weekend, while the website showed signs the transition was already underway. Yet, an email dated September 29, in which the company informed customers of further delay of the move by VMware, setting the new time from October 3 to 6, served as a response to the initial message.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is not the first time Broadcom\u2019s integration of VMware services<\/a> has drawn criticism. A previous overhaul of support sites left customers reporting broken links, trouble retrieving licenses, and difficulties accessing security patches under perpetual licenses. The cloud portal migration now risks becoming another example of customer frustration during Broadcom\u2019s ongoing reshaping of VMware operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, the company is asking clients to consolidate around its VMware Cloud Foundation<\/a> suite, a shift that many say carries higher costs compared to previous licensing models. Those price concerns, combined with the current service disruptions, may test the patience of organizations already under pressure to keep infrastructure stable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Still, Broadcom has delivered some positive news with an on-time maintenance release for VCF<\/a>, which includes new lab-friendly deployment options, security updates, and bug fixes. For now, however, customers remain focused on whether the cloud portal migration will finally succeed in October or add another chapter to an already complicated transition.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
