Oracle is stepping up its multi-cloud strategy, expanding the availability of Oracle Database@Google Cloud to eight new regions while introducing critical enhancements aimed at bolstering enterprise cloud migrations. This move underscores Oracle\u2019s commitment to making its database solutions more accessible in an era where businesses increasingly rely on multi-cloud environments to optimize performance and flexibility.<\/p>\n

The latest expansion will bring Oracle Database@Google Cloud to key locations, including Iowa, Montreal, Toronto, Tokyo, Osaka, Mumbai, Delhi, and S\u00e3o Paulo over the next year. By embedding Oracle infrastructure within Google\u2019s data centers, this initiative enables businesses to harness Oracle\u2019s Exadata technology and database solutions while running applications seamlessly on Oracle Linux\u2014all within Google Cloud\u2019s ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Beyond geographical growth, Oracle is introducing cross-region disaster recovery support for its Autonomous Database Serverless, allowing customers to replicate data across Google Cloud regions. Additionally, Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure will now support single-node VM clusters, offering enterprises a more cost-effective option while maintaining high performance and reliability.<\/p>\n

Karan Batta, senior vice president of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, emphasized that these enhancements are designed to support mission-critical workloads with a focus on resilience and flexibility. Meanwhile, Andi Gutmans, vice president and general manager of databases at Google Cloud, highlighted the advantage of bringing Oracle\u2019s database solutions closer to Google\u2019s AI offerings, enabling organizations to scale AI-driven applications more efficiently.<\/p>\n

Oracle\u2019s partnership with Google Cloud follows its long-standing collaboration with Microsoft, which has allowed customers to deploy Oracle databases natively on Azure. The company has also launched an Oracle Database@AWS service, currently in preview mode, with full availability expected in 2025.<\/p>\n

By strengthening its multi-cloud capabilities, Oracle is positioning itself as a key player in an industry that is rapidly shifting towards interoperability and cloud integration.
