In a world where AI is driving data center workloads to new heights, Barcelona-based startup Submer is offering a revolutionary cooling solution that’s heating up the industry in more ways than one. Recently valued at $500 million, Submer has developed a game-changing technology that submerges entire server racks in biodegradable, non-conductive liquid coolant, tackling the massive energy consumption that AI demands.

Traditional cooling systems struggle to keep pace with the power-hungry AI infrastructure, making Submer’s solution not just innovative but necessary. By using their unique immersion technology, Submer reduces the environmental impact while extending server lifespans—an added bonus for companies concerned about both sustainability and cost.

Founded by Pol Valls and Daniel Pope, the company has already attracted major clients, including telecom giant Telefonica and even government bodies like the European Commission. With significant partnerships from tech giants such as Dell and Intel, Submer is well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory.

What sets Submer apart is not just its cutting-edge approach but the ability to recycle heat from its cooling process for other uses, like building heating—turning energy consumption into a circular, efficient system.

As the world grapples with growing energy demands and AI’s environmental footprint, Submer’s technology offers a timely and forward-thinking solution that could reshape the future of data centers globally.
