Microsoft says part of the GSA infrastructure performed below acceptable thresholds, and that hurt connectivity. Engineers are applying traffic and performance optimizations, and the service shows signs of recovery. That offers little comfort to anyone who spent hours locked out of their tools.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The reporting problem stood out more than the outage itself. Microsoft says administrators may struggle to open the admin center, so the company pushed updates to its Service Health Status page instead. A check of that page surfaced a cheerful banner reading \u201cGreat! No active issues,\u201d with a message just below it admitting the page could not pull incident information. In other words, the tool admins count on to diagnose a platform problem lived inside the very platform causing it.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Microsoft has not yet explained what triggered the latest outage, so the root cause remains open.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The timing adds a layer of irony. Office 2021 LTSC will not stop working, yet losing support means customers must act for compliance reasons, if nothing else. Microsoft would like them to move to <a href=\"https:\/\/hostingdiscussion.com\/news\/dutch-tax-authority-drops-microsoft-365-cloud-plan-for-on-premises-hosting\/\">Microsoft 365<\/a>, although on-premises Office LTSC 2024 remains available for organizations that prefer to keep software in their own hands. Most enterprises settled that decision long ago.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Even so, those who already made the jump to the cloud now have a fresh reminder of the trade-off. When one provider hosts mail, files, meetings and virtual desktops, its bad day becomes everyone\u2019s bad day.
