HostGator<\/a> LATAM has reached a notable security milestone: its Gator Protect<\/a> service, powered by server security company Monarx, now covers more than 600,000 customers across Latin America. The service runs in more than 10 countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Argentina.<\/p>\n

The scale explains the approach. When a hosting provider manages hundreds of thousands of accounts, it cannot count on individual customers to spot threats or on support teams to clean up infected sites one by one. So HostGator LATAM built malware monitoring and detection into the hosting infrastructure itself, rather than leaving security as something customers handle after an incident.<\/p>\n

Ricardo Melo, VP of Product and Growth at HostGator LATAM, said security should be part of the hosting experience instead of an afterthought. He added that the company now wants to make protection simpler and more accessible across its customer base.<\/p>\n

Monarx<\/a> describes itself as an AI-first server security company designed for hosting providers. Its technology detects malicious behavior across whole server environments and automates remediation, which matters because a hosting platform holds billions of files, applications, plugins and scripts at once. According to the companies, Monarx monitors more than 28 billion files across HostGator LATAM’s infrastructure and has carried out over 51 million proactive security actions to date.<\/p>\n

The service works in two tiers. All 600,000-plus customers receive baseline monitoring and detection through Gator Protect. Meanwhile, more than 3,000 have upgraded to Gator Protect Pro, which adds automated malware blocking and removal.<\/p>\n

Luke Langford, CEO of Monarx<\/a>, said protection at this scale would be extremely difficult to manage by hand. In his view, the technology’s job is to detect malicious activity, automate cleanup and lighten the load on hosting teams.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, HostGator LATAM plans to grow adoption of Gator Protect Pro through 2026 and 2027, while keeping core protection available to eligible customers. The partnership also points to a wider direction for the industry, where security increasingly sits inside the hosting stack and runs automatically instead of arriving as a separate product that customers configure themselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
