CrowdStrike<\/a>‘s Falcon security platform now runs on Google Cloud<\/a> infrastructure, a move that says less about competition between the two companies and more about a problem nearly every enterprise now shares: data doesn’t stay in one place anymore, and security tools have to follow it wherever it goes.<\/p>\n

The rollout starts with U.S. regional Google Cloud infrastructure, letting customers keep sensitive data processing within specific geographic boundaries while still running Falcon<\/a>‘s full protection stack, endpoints, identities, cloud workloads, and AI agents, through the same sensor, console, and data layer they already use elsewhere. That last part matters more than it might sound. Most enterprise security tools force a tradeoff: either accept fragmented coverage across different cloud environments, or consolidate everything onto one cloud provider and lose flexibility. Falcon on Google Cloud is CrowdStrike’s attempt to remove that tradeoff entirely.<\/p>\n

“Every enterprise has become a multi-cloud organization,” said Daniel Bernard, CrowdStrike’s chief business officer, framing the expansion as a response to how enterprises actually operate today rather than how vendors wish they operated. He said the goal is giving customers real choice in where they run their business while making it simpler to consolidate cybersecurity<\/a> tools onto a platform they already trust.<\/p>\n

The data sovereignty angle is where this gets specific to Google Cloud, rather than just being a generic multi-cloud pitch. As AI workloads pull more sensitive data through more systems, regulators in multiple countries have tightened rules on where that data can physically sit. CrowdStrike<\/a> says it plans to expand Falcon beyond the U.S. to additional Google Cloud regions, enabling in-region data processing that meets local data localization requirements as they come up.<\/p>\n

Google Cloud’s Brian Goldstein, vice president of strategic AI and ISV, described the partnership as addressing two problems enterprises increasingly can’t separate: cybersecurity and data sovereignty within a broader multi-cloud and AI strategy. Running on Google’s infrastructure, he said, lets CrowdStrike deliver unified protection without adding the operational complexity that usually comes with spreading security tools across multiple cloud environments.<\/p>\n

For organizations already juggling AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud at once, that consolidation pitch is arguably the bigger story here, not the specific cloud provider CrowdStrike partnered with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
