Neither side named a price, and neither revealed how they financed the deal.

By the standards of the group it’s joining, Zone is modest: 52 employees, just over 60,000 customers, and infrastructure spread across Tallinn, Helsinki, and Amsterdam. Even so, it sells the full range hosting customers expect, including domains, shared and WordPress hosting, VPS, and managed cloud, along with its own AI assistant, and it runs on a platform its own engineers built. That, combined with dual incorporation in Estonia and Finland, points to a market wider than one country.

Most hosting customers have never heard of Your.Online, and that’s by design, since the company doesn’t put its name on anything it buys. Its founders came out of domain services, hosting, and trust and security work, and together they’ve assembled 35 brands serving over 1.3 million customers, more than 1,000 employees, and revenue above 300 million euros. Zone now joins the group’s Presence division, which holds its hosting and domain businesses.

One detail matters here, though: Your.Online is not a private equity fund working against a five-year clock. Instead, it sits under Your.World, which Strikwerda Investments backs, a Dutch family office that has supported over 200 companies across four decades. Family offices face none of that same pressure to sell, and Your.Online describes its own approach as buy-and-hold-forever. That does not make the consolidation less real, but it does change the timeline that comes with it.

Look at the group’s brand list, though, and a clearer pattern shows up. It includes Gandi in France, Blacknight in Ireland, Heart Internet and UK2 in Britain, o2switch also in France, 1blu and manitu in Germany, Shellrent in Italy, Inleed in Sweden, and Pair Networks in the US. None of these are struggling companies picked up cheap. Rather, they’re the names developers in each country think of first, and that’s exactly why the Zone deal reads as a marker rather than a footnote. Consolidation has moved past small resellers and into the operators with decades of history, and there are only so many of those left per country.

As for the promises, Zone says it will keep operating independently under CEO Martti Varik, with continuity for customers and staff. Whether that holds is worth checking again in a year.

Zone, the Estonian host and registrar that has sold domains since 1999, announced on August 3 that it is joining Your.Online, the Dutch-backed group that has now acquired more than 60 hosting and domain companies since 2017.
