Then comes hosting, then email, then someone mentions SSL certificates, and suddenly a person who just wanted to sell candles online is managing four different logins across four different companies.

Hosted.com is leaning into that frustration with a renewed push around its domain registration and web hosting tools, aimed squarely at SMEs, startups, and freelancers who don’t have an IT department to sort all this out for them. The pitch isn’t a new product so much as a reminder that the company already bundles domain registration, hosting, WordPress support, email, and security tools into one dashboard.

“Most new businesses often start with a domain name, but the website still needs hosting, email, security, and management tools behind it,” said Wayne Diamond, the company’s CEO. He framed the goal as helping business owners start with solid foundations instead of stitching together separate vendors for each piece.

The hosting plans themselves include the usual technical backbone: cPanel access, SSD storage, LiteSpeed servers, SSL certificates, daily backups, and one-click installs. None of that is groundbreaking on its own. What Hosted.com is betting on is that bundling it under one browser-based control panel matters more to a solo founder than having the single best version of each individual tool.

That bet makes sense for a certain kind of customer. A freelancer setting up their first consulting site doesn’t necessarily want to compare hosting providers, email platforms, and security vendors separately. They want something that works, doesn’t require a developer, and won’t break if they forget to renew something buried in a different account.

For early-stage businesses already running on a patchwork of services, the announcement also doubles as a nudge: check whether your domain, hosting, and email setup is actually working together, or just technically still running. Plenty of small business sites limp along on whatever got cobbled together at launch and never get revisited until something breaks.

Most new business owners learn the hard way that registering a domain name is the easy part.
