What type of billing system are you using / prefer ?

It's really easy to complain about WHMCS, especially in light of their continually increasing prices, but the fact is that it is mature, solid, extensible, and it works. Blesta is similarly robust, does exactly what it is supposed to and does it well. Upmind is also an interesting solution, if...

Is Windows more stable than Linux?

It's not really the point, but in my experience BSD is more stable than either. With that out of the way... modern versions of Windows and most Linux distros are all stable if they are configured in sensible ways and you aren't installing any untested beta software packages. The only case...

    Need a little advice :)

I think that it's important to note that CentOS 6 was end of life more than 3 years ago, so really that should be updated if possible rather than just a newer PHP version, so that you are actually getting security patches, etc. As @bigredseo and @scottweb said you also are going to have trouble...

    Cheap Domain registrar

If you have an even vaguely large amount of domains then OpenProvider is likely to come out as better value.

    Cheap Domain registrar

I love Porkbun but they don't have any reseller offering, the API is mostly for managing DNS records. Openprovider is worth looking at for anyone who needs reseller options. Gandi are also great but they are far from the cheapest.

Unlimited panels with DA vs limited panels with cPanel

I'm curious about all of the people stating that "customers prefer cPanel". What is that based on, are customers explicitly requesting cPanel, did you ask them the question, or have you tried offering an alternative and people have said "hell no, that's not cPanel"? Our experience doesn't show...

cPanel ssl or Lets encrypt ssl?

Either of the big free TLS cert providers, Let's Encrypt or ZeroSSL work perfectly well, and in most cases I don't see any reason to go anywhere else.

Which OS would you prefer to use?

This seems to have morphed at least partly into a discussion about Linux distros rather, in that case my preference is usually for a RHEL clone, i.e. Alma or Rocky over Ubuntu. My absolute favourite distro is OpenSUSE, I just feel that SUSE get so many things right including package management...

What Forum software do you prefer?

Since this discussion was started 15 years ago, the list in the first post might not be the most relevant thing anymore :) Personally my go-to forum software is always Flarum - love the software, the ecosystem, and the community.

Which OS would you prefer to use?

There are some great desktop Linux distros out there, the reason that I say they can be a hassle is hardware detection and support. I have two laptops on my desk right now, and I have at some point tried Linux on both of them, one has a touchscreen and none of the distros I tried would support...

Magento - how quality is it?

It's a really vague question, how good is it depends on how well it fits your needs. It's an open source project that has been around for about 15 years, is widely used and supported, and Adobe paid a massive pile of money to acquire it, so there are plenty of people out there who clearly think...

Which OS would you prefer to use?

For a server, Linux or BSD every time. For a desktop, Windows or macOS is usually less hassle.

What is your take on ChatGPT and BARD

Oh, I don't know. A lot of forums were filled with those long before ChatGPT became a big thing :)

ChatGPT content on Forums and Quora

That's nice to hear. AI generated content everywhere is, at best, really irritating. If I wanted the ChatGPT answer to something then I'd go to ChatGPT directly, if I'm looking for actual thoughts, opinions and experience based knowledge then I will go to a forum. The two should be kept separate.
